This camp is organised by Petronas Sponsorship and Sourcing Unit.
This is my 1st time had a camp like this, so this is a great experience for me :D
This camp is fun :) So, i decide to write a post about it to share with others that maybe also shortlist for the camp next year :)
Petronas EduQuest Camp 2012 ( 1st Day )
I arrived at Yayasan Sarawak at 6.15a.m. The register session on start at 7.30a.m. So, i'm arrived much more earlier -,- This is because the taxi's driver say after 6.30a.m. will got traffic jam.
So, i wait in front of Yayasan Sarawak for about an hour. Then, we are allowed to go in into Yayasan Sarawak's hall.
The register session started, you are asked to show your I.C. to them, then you are given a name tag, you must wear the name tag whenever u had activities.
If i'm not mistaken, after register session is breakfast time :D Karipap and teh C nice nia :P
After that, you are required to hand in the document which is certified true copy to them. It's okay if your document is not certified, because there will be a officer that can certify the document for you, but make sure you bring along the original document.
Then, hostel register session start, 10 persons in1 room, the 1st person that register for a room will become the room leader :)
After register for hostel, " Majlis Perasmian " started, Pengerusi Petronas will give ucapan perasmian and some information about petronas.
After that is briefing session for the camp :)
After briefing, got a Q & A session, at that time, u can ask whatever question about the camp and the scholarship.
After that, we go eat lunch :D
After lunch, there is a briefing session for the test that we had to take.
After briefing session, we start our 1st test which is English Placement Test (EPT)
50 or 60 Objective question in 1 hour at AUDITORIUM, i cant really remember how many question. But never mind, it's just a simple english test and quite easy, something like rational close section of our SPM BI subject.
After that, we had a tea break.
Then, we continue for the second test that is Critical Reasoning Test (Part 1)
It's something like this,
They will give u 5 diagrams which had its own sequence, u have to guess the 6th diagram :)
It's VERY VERY VERY EASY ! But i do not had enough TIME to do it :'( So sad...
It's consist of 40 questions , and you need to complete it in 20 minutes. Many of us did not manage to finish it.
After the test, it's almost 6pm, so we are allowed to go back hostel and take a bath.
During night activities, we are allowed to wear JEAN, LONG PANT, T-SHIRT with Collar
After bath, we go to eat dinner :D
After dinner, we had our third test which is Science and Math Test.
30 Question in 1 hour.
10 Physics Question
10 Chemistry Question
10 Math+Addmath Question
All is objective questions :)
Then, another tea break LOL XD
After tea break. we had our final test for the camp that is Critical Reasoning Verbal Test (Part 2)
60 objective Questions in 30 Minutes ! You need to think fast !
Unfortunately, i only manage to answer 40 out of 60 questions, so disappointed >.< Haizzz....
After the test, they divided us into 5 persons each group for tomorrow interview session.
Unfortunately, i was in Group 13 and my interview session is at afternoon :( So, in the morning i had nothing to do -,-
After grouping, we are allowed to go back to hostel and sleep.
Petronas EduQuest Camp 2012 ( 2nd Day )
I woke up at 6am LOL
As i mentioned just now, my interview session is in afternoon, and yet, i woke up so early >.<
But what to do, because some of my roommate set alarm -,- I've been forced to wake up LOL
The whole morning, i eat + sleep nia -,-
Then almost 1pm like that, i go to bath.
After that, all my group member gather at canteen and we eat lunch together :D
There is 4 of us from miri and 1 from sarikei
2 from Chung Hua LOL, 1 of them is straight A+ student :O
At 2.15pm, we are brought into a room by the officers.
In the room, all of us is given a case of study, we are required to write down any points that relevant to our case of study in 30 minutes.
Every group had different topic of case of study, but every group members had the same topic of case of study, but with different questions and recommendation.
My case of study is about ADVERTISING. OMG, i had no idea about it -,- So, i don't want to talk about it.
There is other case of study like, addiction of drugs, education policy.
After 30minutes, we are brought to another room.
Then, the interview session start.
First one is self-interview, we go into the room 1 by 1 by following the sequence.
During self-interview, we introduce ourselves to the assessors.
After self-introduction, they will ask question about our case of study, then we present our points and idea in front of them.
It's okay if you can't speak fluency, the most important is the points that u think of.
Even though sometimes u stop talking, they will try to ask u some question so that u can continue your presentation.
After the 5th person been interviewed, all of us is called into the room for group-interview.
Well, it's more to group discussion about the case of study.
Since every members had the same case of study, each of us say out our recommendation, and all of us discuss about other group members recommendation and come out with a conclusion that we think it's the best.
After group-interview session, the camp is over, and all of us is allow to go home :D
